Terms of Use
This platform (“quietask”) is operated by Dominik Hintringer, Austria. By using quietask, you agree to these Terms of Use.
1. Using the Platform
- quietask is a free platform for sharing questions, thoughts, and personal concerns — with an account or as a guest.
- Guest mode: You can post questions without creating an account by choosing a nickname. Providing an email address is optional.
- Registration: Creating an account is optional and can be done with or without an email address.
- Email (optional): If you provide an email address, quietask may send you notifications (e.g., security/system notices, status updates, replies/updates where available). You can unsubscribe from notifications at any time and/or delete your account.
- Non-commercial use: You may use the platform for private, non-commercial purposes only. Automated scraping, reselling data, or commercial use without permission is prohibited.
- Radio: quietask offers a radio section that plays music from free sources (e.g., Pixabay Music). This feature is part of the platform and is also governed by these Terms.
- Anonymous 24/7 chat: The chat can be used anonymously. You may not use it for harassment, spam, illegal content, or to bypass rules.
2. Content, Moderation & Conduct
- You must not publish content that violates applicable laws or our rules (e.g., hate speech, discrimination, extremism, glorification of violence, illegal content, targeted harassment, personal attacks).
- Posting or sharing personal data of others without consent is prohibited (e.g., real names, addresses, phone numbers, private chats, photos).
- Review of questions: Submitted questions (including in guest mode) may be reviewed before publication — automatically and/or manually — to prevent abuse and keep the community safe.
- Filters & safety measures: Automated filters may detect problematic terms and patterns. We reserve the right to edit (e.g., add a warning), restrict, delay, reject, or remove content at any time.
- Reports: Users can report content. Reports may lead to review and appropriate actions.
- Sensitive content: Content that may be sensitive or psychologically distressing may be labeled with a warning (“Sensitive Content”).
- Respect: Respectful behavior is required. Abuse of the chat or platform may result in restrictions, blocking, or removal (including without an account, via technical measures).
3. Features & User Content
- Depending on the area, you can post questions, comment, upvote, save posts, and follow/unfollow other users.
- Your profile (if you have one) may be public or private (depending on settings).
- Embeds & sharing: Content may be shared and/or embedded on external websites. Use of third-party sites is at your own risk.
- Recommendations: We may use features that help surface “relevant” content. We do not guarantee visibility, reach, or ranking for any content.
- Radio usage: The radio is an optional feature. We do not guarantee availability, track selection, or uninterrupted playback.
4. Availability, Changes & Support
- quietask is free to use. We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- We may change, add, limit, or discontinue features (e.g., guest mode, radio, chat, notifications) if necessary for technical, legal, or security reasons.
- Support: help@quietask.com or help page: help.quietask.com
5. Liability & External Content
- We are liable only for damages caused by intent or gross negligence. In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations.
- User-generated content reflects the views of the respective users only. quietask is not responsible for content created or shared by users.
- We assume no liability for external websites or third-party content reachable via links or embeds. The respective provider is responsible.
6. Security, Abuse & Emergencies
- Even with anonymous use, we reserve the right to take technical measures and remove content in cases of abuse (e.g., illegal content, threats, manipulation, spam).
- Not an emergency service: quietask is not an emergency service and does not replace professional help. If you are in immediate danger (e.g., suicidal thoughts or threats of violence), please contact local emergency services or crisis hotlines immediately.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use. Changes will be published on this page and apply from the time of publication. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
